Myung Gyun You awarded Summer Residency at Rancho Linda Vista

Rancho Linda Vista is excited to announce that Myung Gyun You has been selected as the recipient of its 2017 Artist Residency Award. Gyun is a Korean artist who moved to the U.S. five years ago and today lives in Philadelphia.

A mixed-media artist using pigment, fibers and other natural and manmade materials, Gyun’s work explores the intersection between identity, culture and nature. He creates large site-specific installations, as well as smaller wall pieces and works on canvas and paper.

He earned his MFA at Tama Art College in Tokyo and BFA at Busan University in Busan, South Korea. He has exhibited in Seoul, London and Philadelphia and Key West (among other places). Awards include an Emerging Artist Fellowship at Socrates Sculpture Park in NY and a Fellowship to the MacDowell Colony.
